How to zoom in to increase text size

You can zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen by using:

  • browser zoom
  • browser settings
  • accessibility features

How to use browser zoom

Most modern browsers allow you to zoom in and out of a webpage, effectively increasing the size of the text. For:

  • Windows devices - press the "Ctrl" button and "+" to zoom in and Ctrl + "-" to zoom out
  • Mac devices - press the "Cmd" button and "+" to zoom in and Cmd + "-" to zoom out

Alternatively, go to your browser's settings menu (three dots or lines in the upper right corner) and adjust the zoom level.

How to use browser settings

You can permanently change the default font size for all web pages.

For Google Chrome:

  • click the three dots in the upper-right corner
  • go to "Settings" and then "Appearance"
  • adjust the Font Size or Page Zoom

For Firefox:

  • click the three lines in the upper-right corner
  • go to "Settings" and then "General"
  • scroll down to "Language and Appearance" and adjust the "Font Size" or "Zoom"

For Safari:

  • go to "Safari" and then "Preferences" and then "Advanced"
  • in the "Accessibility" section, check "Never use font sizes smaller than" and "choose a preferred size"

How to use accessibility features

Operating systems and browsers offer accessibility options that allow you to increase font size globally or for specific applications:

  • Windows - go to "Settings" and then "Ease of Access" and then "Display", then adjust the "Make text bigger slider"
  • Mac -go to "System Preferences" and then "Accessibility" and then "Display" and adjust text size
